Second Sunrise of Spring 2013

Nice sunrise today. Still cold out only about 13 degrees... but beautiful. Hope you like it. 

Smooth Waves

Port Washington braces for more snow this morning. Lake Michigan began whipping up waves ahead of the impending snowfall.

Port Washington takes on many faces in winter. 

Big Waves

Huge waves crash the lighthouse and shoreline in Port Washington Wisconsin ahead of a winter blizzard.

Peace and Quite

Marina was quite except for a few fishermen and the geese

Wall of Fog and Clouds

Super Cold Air Created Surface Fog

Anther day of super cold air created rolling fog on the surface and a wall of clouds a few miles out onto Lake Michigan

Perfect Dawn

The air was a crisp 23 degrees creating great clarity for a beautiful sunrise.

Golden Dawn

Dawn broke in Port Washington casting a golden glow over the marina, lighthouse and breakwater. As the sun rose higher the gold turned to peach.

Ice and cold mixed with the morning sunrise.

Little departure from the normal sunrises, today we have a blizzard approaching.  Lake Michigan was roaring.

Sun, Snow and Town

Great morning for a sunrise with the snow, sun and town way down below the bluff.

Sun Bluff Beach and Trees

On this crisp morning the sunrise was crisp up on the bluff amongst the trees.  The perfect vantage point to see the new dawn.

Beautiful in the Harbor

It was beautiful in the harbor. Sun was shining, air was crisp and clear.

The bright sky was illuminated orange by the sunrise, the dark water shimmered and the trees stood by admiring it all.

Fire in the Sky

The sunrise and dark water below created a great contrast of fire and ice.

Sunrise is overwhelming engulfing all that it touches.

Sliver of gold breaks the blues of the sky and water.

Creating an amazing contrast and illuminating the sky.
